This sheet helps pupils understand how writers present information clearly in non-chronological reports. By analysing a model text, children notice how topics are introduced, how headings are used to organise section and the different techniques that can be used to start a sentence. They also identify technical or subject-specific vocabulary and the different ways a report might end, such as with a summary or interesting fact. Pupils are then guided to adapt these techniques in their own reports, making their writing structured, factual and cohesive.
