Lesson 15

Lesson 15

Year 1

In this lesson, children build on their understanding of subjects, verbs, and extra information by learning how to add where something happened. Through clear modelling and structured practice, pupils see how sentences can be expanded to tell the reader more and make writing more interesting. The lesson begins with a quick recap of complete sentences before introducing where as another type of extra information. Pupils then compose their own sentences using picture prompts and scaffolded support.
