This baseline assessment is designed to check pupils’ understanding of the Year 4 curriculum objectives at the start of Year 5. The activities are clear and focused, covering key grammar and punctuation skills such as plural and possessive ‘s’, standard and non-standard English, expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials, apostrophes for possession, paragraphing, pronouns, inverted commas, commas after fronted adverbials and determiners.
